The staff was friendly and helpful.

The room had a persistent sewage smell that was unbearable and the bathroom was definitely in need of better maintenance. I felt uncomfortable living in an environment that seemed worn and unclean, and I regretted not switching rooms. The advertised heated pool was far too cold to enjoy, which added to my disappointment, especially when I expected a much better experience based on previous stays in Madeira.

The heated pool remained off when I visited, which seemed like a cost-saving measure rather than providing guests a warm place to swim, especially at the end of November. Common areas, particularly the 11th-floor hallway, felt drab and damp, likely due to worn carpets and a lack of light, which dampened the mood as I walked back to my suite. The breakfast spread came off as stale and repetitive, particularly disappointing in a place known for its fresh produce — it felt uninspired and lacked variety. Overall, the space seemed like it could use some serious upgrades, from decor to facilities, leaving it feeling like a potential four-star not quite living up to its reputation.

The pool area needs better organization to avoid blocked paths between sunbeds!!! Rooms could use a complete refresh, particularly the outdated decor and the questionable cleanliness standards in several areas!!!

We had the best time relaxing by the pool and enjoying the stunning sea views from our Executive Suite. The two pool areas were perfect for lounging, and we also loved the accessibility to local bars and restaurants. Plus, the hop-on-hop-off bus made it easy to explore the island!

The room was spacious and comfortable, offering a pleasant retreat after a day of exploring. The shower experience was delightful—great water pressure that made it stand out! Breakfast had a variety of choices that catered well to different tastes. I loved the sea view from my room, which added a special touch to my stay.

While the overall ambiance was pleasant, the gym didn’t open until 8:30 am, which was a bit late for my early workout needs.

We had a delightful stay at Girassol, Suite Hotel, enjoying top-notch service and scrumptious food during our whole week. The staff were the friendliest ever! Highly recommended.

Spacious room with nice views

I enjoyed my stay with a lovely executive suite that boasted a separate living area and a balcony with beautiful sea views. The location was convenient for exploring local restaurants and the town. The friendly staff made my experience even better. However, while the breakfast was decent, I think there could be more variety offered.

This hotel suits me perfectly with great wi-fi, free parking, and a heated pool. The staff provided excellent restaurant recommendations during my first stay. Highly recommend enjoying the spa treatment. I'm definitely coming back for a city break!
